Freedrum 2 Shipping Update

Hello Freedrummers,

We wanted to inform all the pre-order customers that shipping is delayed into November of this year. We apologize for this delay, but want to inform you on how the delay is improving the overall quality of the product.

One thing we want to make clear is that we will not ship Freedrum unless it checks every box for quality control and we do that with each iteration and review of the manufacturing process.

Here we will go into a few details from certification, hardware revision and more.


Currently, we are held up by certification and cannot ship any units until an external lab complete and approve our certification. We have tried to do everything we can to speed up the process, but a lot of this is outside of our control. The second we have more news and approval we will make an update to let everyone know.

Improved Stick Design

Many drummers of all backgrounds stopped by our booth at NAMM and the feedback was unanimous that the sticks were slightly too heavy. When we added the sensors into the sticks, the weight increased significantly with the components and battery.

We have decided to use maple sticks based on that feedback. By moving to maple sticks we have dropped the weight by 15g. This will make the playing experience much better as well as reduce our carbon footprint.

This is great news for the user experience, but has delayed the manufacturing process since we needed to source new sticks from a new source who will also need to make a new tool to mill the drumsticks. This has added 4+ weeks to the overall process.
